Tip: Press the spackling into the hole with a clean putty knife, then draw the blade firmly across the surface to strike off the excess in one pass. Dip the knife in water and skim lightly for a smoother finish. One application handles most small repairs; for repairs deeper than 1/8", build up in layers and let each dry.
