TWP 100 SERIES TOTAL WOOD PRESERVATIVE - DARK OAK
TWP 100 Series is an oil-based, semi-transparent wood preservative and stain formulated for exterior decking, siding, fencing, log homes, and outdoor furniture. The penetrating formula carries paraffin wax to shed water and (in the tinted colors) iron oxide pigments that absorb UV to slow gray-out from sunlight. Dark Oak is a medium-dark warm brown tone that highlights wood grain and works well on weathered wood or as a refresh coat over older finishes.
- Color: Dark Oak
- Penetrates into the wood grain without forming a surface film that can peel, crack, or delaminate
- Sheds water and resists mildew, rot, and rain damage
- UV-absorbing pigments help preserve natural wood tones and slow weathering to gray
- Suitable for all exterior wood - decks, siding, fences, log homes, hardwoods, cedar, redwood, and properly weathered pressure-treated lumber
- Coverage: 200-400 sq ft per gallon depending on wood porosity and absorption
- Recoat life: 3-5 years on vertical surfaces, 2-3 years on horizontal high-traffic decks - re-coat when water no longer beads on the surface
- Brush or roll application; back-brush after rolling for even penetration; do not apply over paints, surface sealers, or film-forming finishes
Tip: Apply when the wood is dry and air temperature is between 50-95 deg F with no rain forecast for 24 hours. New pressure-treated lumber should weather 4-6 months before staining so the mill glaze and water repellent break down. Test on a small hidden area first - actual color depends on wood species, age, surface prep, and application method, and the manufacturer is not responsible for color variance after application.
