Selection Tip: 5" is a less common grinder size and is mainly chosen when the matching 5" tool is already in the shop (some Bosch, Metabo, and pneumatic cutoff models) or when the user wants slightly more cut depth than a 4-1/2" disc without stepping up to a heavier 6" grinder. Will not fit a standard 4-1/2" angle grinder guard.

Use Tip: Let the disc come to full RPM before contact, hold a steady angle, and use light pressure - pushing harder loads the disc and burns the binder. Cut on the back half of the wheel (not the leading edge) for the cleanest line, and never side-load a Type 1 disc; thin-kerf wheels are made for cutting only, not edge grinding.

Safety: Always use the guard, full face shield, hearing protection, and leather gloves. Inspect the disc for cracks before mounting; retire any wheel that has been dropped or that shows a chipped edge.
