CHARLOTTE PIPE PVC DWV 1/16 BEND STREET ELBOW - 1-1/2"

This 1-1/2" Schedule 40 PVC street elbow makes a slight directional change of about 22.5 degrees (a 1/16 bend) in drain, waste, and vent piping. It is the smallest standard angle in the DWV family and is used to nudge a run a few degrees around an obstruction rather than make a hard turn. The street pattern carries a spigot on one end and a hub on the other, dropping straight into the next fitting hub without an extra coupling.

  • Hub x spigot connection for direct fitting-to-pipe transitions
  • 1/16 bend (approximately 22.5 degrees)
  • Schedule 40 PVC DWV construction
  • Meets ASTM D2665 and NSF Standard 14
  • Solvent-weld with PVC primer and cement
  • Working temperature: 32 to 140 deg F
  • Size: 1-1/2"

Use Case: The 1-1/2" size suits lavatory drain arms, sink trap arms, washing-machine standpipes, and small-diameter vent risers where a small offset is needed. For larger directional changes, pair two 1/16 bends or step up to a 1/8 bend (45 degrees) or 1/4 bend (90 degrees). Use a 1/16 bend when the existing run is already close to the target line and only needs to be eased over.

Installation Tip: Cut the pipe square, deburr inside and out, and dry-fit first so the spigot bottoms in the hub it will glue into. Apply PVC primer to both surfaces, then a full coat of solvent cement on the spigot and a thinner coat on the hub. Push together with a quarter-turn twist and hold 30 seconds. Cure undisturbed before test or backfill per the cement label.

Note: "Street" means hub-by-spigot rather than hub-by-hub - the spigot end drops into the next fitting without an intermediate coupling. Confirm DWV-rated 1/16 bends are accepted in your application; check local plumbing code for fitting types allowed at each joint and for venting requirements.
