GEARWRENCH DEEP SOCKET - 3/8" DRIVE, 6-POINT METRIC - 10MM

GearWrench 10mm deep socket with 3/8" drive square and 6-point design. The deep-well profile reaches recessed fasteners and the threaded studs that protrude past a standard socket. Surface Drive technology applies torque to the flats of the fastener (not the corners), reducing rounding on tight or partially-rounded heads. Chrome vanadium alloy steel with full-polish chrome finish for corrosion resistance and easy cleaning. The knurled ring distinguishes metric from SAE sockets in the toolbox.

  • Surface Drive off-corner loading reduces fastener rounding on hex bolts and nuts
  • 6-point design grips fastener flats for maximum torque transfer on round/standard hex heads
  • Deep-well length reaches recessed fasteners and bolts with long thread protrusion
  • 3/8" drive square fits any standard 3/8" ratchet, breaker bar, or extension
  • Chamfered opening guides the socket onto the fastener quickly
  • Hard-stamped size marking resists wear from sustained use
  • Knurled ring distinguishes metric from SAE at a glance
  • Chrome vanadium alloy steel with full-polish chrome finish
  • Meets or exceeds ASME B107.5M (metric hand-ratchet socket) specifications
  • GearWrench full lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects

Application Tip (10mm): Fits M6 metric bolt heads (DIN 933 standard) - the most-used metric size in automotive interior trim and engine accessories. Deep profile reaches long M6 studs on intake manifolds, valve covers, and accessory brackets where the bolt protrudes past the surface.

Tip: Use the 6-point socket on tight or partially-rounded fasteners where a 12-point would slip. Chrome (hand-tool) sockets like this one are designed for hand-ratchet use - for air or electric impact wrench work, switch to a black-oxide impact socket (the chrome finish chips under impact loads). Step up to a 1/2" drive socket and longer breaker bar for high-torque applications like lug nuts, crankshaft pulley bolts, or large suspension fasteners exceeding the 3/8" drive ratchet rating.
