Tip: Hanging hardware is only as strong as what it is anchored to. Find a ceiling joist or beam, pre-drill a small pilot hole, and thread the eye screw in by hand until the eye seats flush against the ceiling. A screw driven into drywall alone will pull out - if there is no joist behind the spot you want, switch to a swag-style toggle hook rated for the load.

Sizing the load: Weigh what you plan to hang after watering, not before. A potted plant can gain several pounds of water weight, and that soaked weight is what the hook, the eye screw, and the ceiling have to carry. Stay within the working load limit printed on the card, and step up to the 6" kit if you need the pot to clear a window frame, curtain rod, or door swing.
