ANDERSON METALS LEAD FREE BRASS FLARE REDUCING UNION - 5/8" X 1/2"

Anderson Metals flare reducing union joins two different flare-fitted tubing sizes inline, so you can step a 5/8" run down to 1/2" (or back up) without an adapter chain. Forged from lead free brass for potable water, fuel gas, refrigeration, and instrument-air service.

  • Flare x flare reducing connection: 5/8" SAE 45-degree flare on one end, 1/2" SAE 45-degree flare on the other
  • Forged lead free brass body - meets Public Law 111-380 (less than 0.25 percent lead weighted average), NSF/ANSI 372 certified
  • Operating temperature range -65 deg F to +250 deg F
  • Compatible with soft copper, brass, aluminum, and steel tubing prepared with a standard 45-degree flaring tool
  • Common in LP/natural gas appliance hookups, HVAC refrigerant lines, oil burner lines, and water service work
  • Reassembles repeatedly without seal degradation - no thread tape or sealant required on the flare cone
  • Color: Brass

Tip: The 5/8" x 1/2" size is typical for stepping HVAC suction or LP service runs between 5/8" trunks and 1/2" branches. Inspect each flare cone for tool marks or cracks before assembly, line the cones up dead-square, and tighten the nuts with two wrenches (one on the union body, one on the nut) to avoid twisting the soft tubing behind the flare.
