Face shields are designed to protect the wearer's face from a variety of hazards against which eyewear or goggles alone would not be sufficient. The added protection that a face shield provides is necessary where severe exposure to falling or flying objects, impact, chemical splash, and airborne debris is likely, such as chipping, grinding, machining, masonry riveting and sanding.
